Activate script, play a game with your wished character until exp screen and in it you can edit experience and level the way you want.
As alternative you can edit all characters of a group (MM or survivor) at once.
Just browse the memory region and look for your wanted player's level.

Structure is the following:
level
0
exp

For a total reset set exp to 0 and level to 1.
